Reading: One to Ten
Haven't posted in an age, here's a meme post to try and the get blogging brain reactivated (via Con).
The book I’m currently reading: Our Mutual Friend by Charles Dickens and Slouching Towards Bethlehem by Joan Didion. Fine books by writers I trust but I can't seem to get any reading done at the moment. Too tired, I think.
The last book I finished: Hell's Angels by Hunter S. Thompson. On a US journalism tip.
The next book I want to read: The Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes, I try to keep up with Booker winners.
The last book I bought: See 3.
The last book I was given: Can't remember, but Val lent me All That I Am by Anna Funder which was flawed but the true story about Nazi activity in London in the 1930s is astonishing.
The last book I borrowed from the library: Room by Emma Donoghue, but it was a while back. I have a backlog of about 3 shelvesworth to get through. (Yes, I used the word shelvesworth.)
The first book I read this year: Can You Forgive Her by Anthony Trollope. I do keep a record of everything I've read, tragically.
What was the last translated book you read?: Notre Dame de Paris by Victor Hugo, splendid.
The book at the top of my Christmas list: Macquarie Dicionary (5th ed). The other day I noticed that my trusty old Collins does not contain an entry for "internet". Time for an update.
The so-far unpublished book I am most looking forward to reading: Arsenal - Champion's League Triumph 2012
